Beautiful and well-maintained Japanese Shibayama cabinet. Meiji Period, circa 1890. Upper sliding two-door cabinet with five shelves below. Center shelf with decorative stair step from lower section. Two drawers on either of central sliding two-door cabinet. Lower section with two single-door cabinets and central shelf over drawer.
Highly decorated with black and gold lacquer, mother-of-pearl, abalone, and bone. Carved detail to side panels. Carved bone fish door pulls. Total 90" height by 55" width by 17" depth. The main cabinet separates from the base for shipping.
